Abstract: As electronic systems continue to scale in complexity and speed, printed circuit boards (PCBs) are increasingly challenged by electromagnetic interference (EMI) and signal integrity issues. Modal filtering techniques have emerged as a promising approach for mitigating noise and improving signal integrity, particularly in high-speed applications. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of modal filtering techniques applied to double-sided PCB structures, exploring their effectiveness in noise reduction and overall system performance enhancement. We examine the design considerations, implementation methods, and performance metrics of modal filters on double-sided PCBs. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate significant reductions in EMI and crosstalk, showcasing the potential of modal filters in advanced PCB design.
